An MCP (Model Context Protocol) uses OAuth to connect AI models with external apps. Once set up, you can ask your AI tool questions and get answers pulled from your Copilot Money data. This connector has read-only access; write operations are not supported at this time.
OAuth is the same secure login standard used by our data aggregators, so your credentials are never shared directly with the AI tool.
Connecting the MCP
Setup steps vary by AI tool, so we recommend checking each tool's official documentation for the most up-to-date instructions. Here are the links:

Privacy & Security
Your security is our priority. Copilot Money's MCP connector uses OAuth (the same industry-standard login flow used by our bank data aggregators) so your credentials are never shared with your AI tools.
When you connect via the MCP, your AI tool will have read-only access. This means it cannot move money, modify your accounts, or write any data on your behalf. However, the AI tool will be able to view and reference all data as it appears in Copilot Money. This includes your accounts, investments, transactions, categories, budgets, Recurrings, tags, and goals.
We'd recommend periodically reviewing which AI tools have access to Copilot Money and disconnecting any you're no longer using.
As a current user of an AI tool, you've consented to their terms of service and privacy policy, but we recommend you review them regularly to understand how your data may be used, including the data you surface using the Copilot Money MCP.
