Sharing Account Access with Magic Links

If you want to share access to your Copilot account with a trusted individual, such as a partner or financial advisor, you can utilize our Magic Link sign in method. Before proceeding, please note that any additional logged-in devices will also have full control of the account.

To grant access:

  1. Forward the Magic Link Email: Simply forward the most recent Magic Link sign-in email you received from Copilot to the person you wish to share your account with.

  2. Access via Link: The recipient can then tap or click on the unique link contained within the email. This link acts as a temporary, secure key, logging them into your account without the need for a shared password.

  3. Prior Installation Required: For the smoothest possible experience, please ensure the recipient has already downloaded and installed the Copilot application on their device (smartphone or tablet) before they click on the Magic Link. This prerequisite ensures the link correctly opens the app. The exception to this is if you’re logging into our web app.

This method of sharing ensures that your core account security remains robust, as it avoids sharing static, reusable passwords, and leverages our secure, one-time sign-in mechanism. Remember to only share access with individuals you trust implicitly.

Enhanced Account Security Measures

We have temporarily restricted the option to sign in using a traditional password. This measure is a proactive step to prevent potential risks associated with password-based authentication. If you have additional questions about login methods with Copilot, please contact us via the in-app chat.

Tips & Tricks for managing a shared account

You can create a group of categories for each individual to manage their own budget. Tap here to learn more about creating groups of categories.

Tags can also add another layer of distinguishing your transactions, giving you a clear visual of who's transactions belong to who. This works especially well for tagging your income and transfer transactions as those cannot be categorized. Learn more about tags here.
