Copilot now allows you to connect your Bitstamp account with an API key.

DISCLAIMER: The Bitstamp website screenshots below may become outdated, but the general instructions for creating a read-only API Key should not change substantially. Please contact Bitstamp Support if you have any questions about API Key Creation.

API Key Creation

  • Login to your Bitstamp account in a web browser.

  • Open the profile dropdown menu in the upper right corner of the dashboard, and select Settings.

  • Select API Access under Access Control, and then scroll down to the Permissions section.

    • Enable general permissions Account Balance and User Transactions.

    • DO NOT enable any API key permissions under Transfers, Withdrawals, Orders and Deposits. Copilot only requires read access. For your security and the integrity of your Bitstamp account, BE SURE NOT TO enable any permissions other than Account Balance and User Transactions.

  • Select Enter 2FA & Submit.

  • Copy and save your Secret Key in a secure location. The Secret Key will not be available to view again.

  • Select Activate and follow the email link to activate your new API Key.

Account Connection

  • To connect your Bitstamp account, select add > next to the Investments section of the Accounts tab, then Link an institution and More Crypto Exchanges. Select Bitstamp and Continue.

  • Acknowledge that you have followed the read-only API key instructions in this article.

  • Then enter the new read-only API Key and Secret to connect Bitstamp.
